The value of an occupant list is in the postage discounts and lead generation. The discounts can be significant over traditional mail advertisements ($10/m and higher). As for lead generation an occupant list contains every address as delivered by the USPS. Thus a client could ask for their own list to be supressed against an occupant file leaving non-customers. These can then be mailed, quite efficiently, generating leads not found in other traditional compiled files.

In some cases, names (where available) CAN be added to these Occupant lists while still maintaining the lowest postal rates, making your mail piece more personalized while taking advantage of the (lowest) saturation postal rates.
